Lucia Vincent, Principal (she/her)

Principal Lucia Vincent serves as one of New Zealand's leading employment law specialists selected for the National Employment Law Committee of the New Zealand Law Society.

Lucia has assisted business owners, HR advisors and senior executives to resolve employment issues with commercial pragmatism. She has represented corporate clients in the Employment Relations Authority and mediation. She has also worked with Insurers and clients to settle complex and sensitive claims involving several parties, professional bodies, unions, and advisors.

Businesses and professional bodies have sought Lucia out for upskilling their members in all areas of employment law, both in house and at conferences and seminars. She has been invited to author papers and articles in national conferences and publications for employers and advocates.

Lucia (AWI-CH) has conducted independent investigations into bullying and harassment.

Lucia has developed robust employment agreements and policy to avoid problems and resolved restructuring and personal grievances efficiently when issues arose.

Lucia adds to her specialist skill set, her many hats in other leadership roles. Prior to establishing her own employment law firm, she led the employment law team at a well-known Dunedin firm as a Litigation Partner. She until recently convened the Employment Law Committee for the Otago Branch of NZLS, and sat on the Audit and Risk Committee as a Trustee of charitable trust THETA.

Outside of work, Lucia has represented New Zealand in Triathlon in four successive world championships. She most recently podiumed with a silver medal in her age group for Long Distance Triathlon in Pontevedra, Spain.

Following her appointment to the Employment Relations Authority as a Member, commencing 14 November 2022, Lucia wishes to thank all of her clients for their support and wishes them all the very best.
